Why Did You Come Back

Now that I know you will never ask me. Or you. Or you.I've come back to die.I've come back to watch everyone else die.I've come back because we all have to die and I want to watch to make sure you're gone.I've no idea. Why not just ask me to stay?Because I had to.Because home is the place where when you have to go there, they have to take you in.Because it's just a visit. . . . .Because I loved. . . . . The devil made me do it.I had run out of running. Why not ask why you never left. . . . .Because four is sometimes equal to two plus two. . . .Because I still don't have the good sense you never thought I had.Why did I ever leave. . . .To cultivate apathy. . . . Just to leave again and pick afresh the wound of our parting. . . . .Because I could.

WHERE'S THE AIR NATIONAL GUARD WHEN YOU REALLY NEED 'EM

                        According to reliable sources,

America, just us, dumps seven billion tons of

carbon waste into our nation’s air every year.

Of course, air, so egalitarian, eventually distributes the waste globally;

but that’s a whole ‘nother rant.

Seven billion tons equals 14,000,000,000,000 pounds

or 28 tons of carbon waste falling on your head per person per year.  Imagine that.

We must be all already more dead than alive.

 28 tons equals 153 pounds

per day. Like having an average-sized American falling on you.

How we avoid the crushing embrace of our carbon twin is beyond me,

but gives new meaning to the song; “It’s Raining Men”. Imagine awakening every

day to the thunder and crash and crack of another human, one for each American

man, woman and child raining down to earth. Every day! Not just today, not just

yesterday, not some aberrant tomorrow,

but EVERY DAY! I bet that would get our attention.

                                                                         or,

The waste produced by the animals one human eats each year

                                    totals 20 tons.

20 tons of fecal matter, urine, gasses for every human in addition

                                    to his (sic) own.

It takes so little time to wrong the rights and so much time to

right the wrongs, it's a wonder we get anything done.
